{"id":97004,"date":"2024-10-24T09:09:49","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T22:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldofaviation.com\/?p=97004"},"modified":"2024-10-25T03:12:54","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T16:12:54","slug":"air-india-and-singapore-airlines-expand-codeshare-to-51-new-destinations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldofaviation.com\/2024\/10\/air-india-and-singapore-airlines-expand-codeshare-to-51-new-destinations\/","title":{"rendered":"Air India and Singapore Airlines expand codeshare to 51 new destinations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Air India and Singapore Airlines will significantly expand their codeshare agreement to include 51 new destinations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The expansion marks the largest update to the airlines&#8217; codeshare arrangements since 2010.<\/p>\n<p>From October 27, both carriers will share codes on flights between Singapore and the Indian cities of Bengaluru and Chennai.<\/p>\n<p>Air India Chief Commercial Officer Nipun Aggarwal highlighted the partnership&#8217;s benefits.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are excited to offer our guests greater connectivity to destinations across South East Asia, the Far East, and Australasia,&#8221; Aggarwal said.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore Airlines will add codes to Air India&#8217;s domestic flights connecting 11 Indian cities.<\/p>\n<p>Air India customers will gain access to 29 destinations across Singapore Airlines&#8217; network.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore Airlines&#8217; Chief Commercial Officer Lee Lik Hsin said the agreement reflected strong collaboration between the carriers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Adding Air India&#8217;s domestic network to our codeshare arrangements will also offer our customers enhanced connectivity and convenience in India,&#8221; Lee said.<\/p>\n<p>The expanded agreement awaits regulatory approval.<\/p>\n<p>Weekly codeshare services between the two countries will increase from 14 to 56 flights.<\/p>\n<p>Both airlines plan to progressively include additional destinations in their networks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Air India and Singapore Airlines will significantly expand their codeshare agreement to include 51 new destinations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
